An update on this, MSN is reporting that the term Blackfire in Vegas refers to a co-working space located near the A's Ballpark Experience Center.

It's very specific.

It's like a little placeholder of a name, but I do wonder...

What would it take, and should they try to somehow work out a deal to keep the A's colors and name?

It makes me think of, you know, you've got to keep things like this top secret when it comes to naming a team, a business.
