And being a good teammate in the world of blindness, to me,

means thinking about what is that balance between the help that i'm now going to accept from others shifting that mindset from being forced to accept help to being grateful for the help to being grateful for the help and then thinking in your own mind okay i'm grateful for this help but i'm going to show my teammate that i'm grateful i'm going to show my wife

That because she's got to do all of the driving and figure out how to open the mail and tell me what it says and all of the other things that she needs to do as a sighted person, I'm going to get up an hour before her every day and she's going to walk down the stairs to a matcha latte and a maid breakfast and I'm going to have the dogs taken care of and my son's breakfast is also going to be ready to go.

Well, my wife is a better teammate than I am.

And anybody that knows her would say the same.

But the mindset, right, I'm sure you can relate to this, is what can I do for my team and where's the balance?

And when you start figuring out what you can do for the team that's around you, it really gives you back some confidence, doesn't it?

Well, you know, this book is about the blind community.

It's for the blind community.

I've donated all the proceeds from the book to the International Blind Ice Hockey Foundation.

And it was extremely important to me because I'm a consumer of audio books myself.

I can't read my own.

For those that are seeing this, this is the print book.

I can't read it.

I'm never going to be able to read my own book.

It was extremely important to me that the audio book be available first.

A lot of my friends that play blind hockey had gotten wind that the book was coming out and they kept asking, when's the audio book going to be available?

Typically when a print book gets released, the publisher will figure out how the print version is selling and

and then use those sales to position the audio book rights with one of the major publishers of audio books.

That might be Tantor, it might be Audible, you know, there are several.
