I mean, you didn't have to be Dr. Julius Sunder Miller to join the dots and know who they were, but they had complete anonymity.
I mean, they'd been in magazines, in the newspaper, on the television, in some cases on the television more than once.
We all knew who they were, but suddenly they're granted anonymity.
It speaks volumes, doesn't it?
that in the days that followed my acquittal, and they've been given this, and that's automatic in the state of Victoria, and the journalists know that, of course.
You've got to get to the cops.
You'll be granted anonymity.
But fancy, once you've been granted that anonymity, afterwards you go and do podcasts and things outing yourself.
I called it the injustice of justice, Michael.
It was just beyond crippling.
And, you know, when the proceedings started in earnest and we were actually in court and we were only allocated X number of days or X number of weeks, and I'm starting to notice two things initially happening.
Particularly when prosecution witnesses came on the stand and talked about backstage culture, what it was like, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah.
I saw as certain stories started to unravel, suddenly the media weren't interested anymore.
Gosh, it looks like he might not be the monster.
So fewer and fewer and fewer members of the press showed up.
But also I noticed that when people's stories unraveled, the magistrate would just call a recess for half an hour.
But that half an hour spun into an hour and a half.
Now we'll take lunch or whatever.
Now I can remember thinking, I'm never going to get to have my say.
I said to Mr. Littlemore, we're never going to get there.
