Well, turning our attention to Hobart this morning to look at whether there are these affordable suburbs left for people to get into the market.
And I'm joined by local real estate man there, Barry Wheeler.
Great to have you on the podcast this morning.
Good morning Craig and everybody else.
Thank you so much for having me.
Well Hobart's the place to be.
Firstly before we get into talking suburbs, last weekend was the first weekend of open homes and sales since the cash rate moved.
Was there anything in particular that you observed last weekend on the ground there?
Now, talking of those conversations, I guess quite a number of them will be coming from first home buyers.
And I see that people who are keen in Hobart to buy, the Canstar in Hotspotting's Bright Starters report revealed that Berrydale, Claremont, Primrose Sands, Risdon Vale and Rokeby are probably the best areas for first home buyers.
So what are you actually seeing there in terms of those areas and affordability?
And the report also showed that out of the capital and regional markets that Hobart was ranked 11th for affordability.
Did that surprise or not surprise you at the ranking?
