People are going to have to turn back to the moorings, which made us great in the first place.
Say that once more.
Where did you grow up?
When did I grow up?
Where?
Mainly International Falls, Minnesota.
I guess some of the foundational things about life and who made me or what made me what I am.
I think it's kind of instructive to you see the end result of who you are, what made you into that, what was the ingredients in that recipe.
And there were a couple of them for me that were foundational that made the character of Dale Hanson who I am.
And the first one was when I was five years old.
I became a Christian, which sounds kind of strange maybe to some people.
But I apparently had a good mind, and I could converse with adults on pretty much a straight level.
And I was hearing the preacher, and he was, I remember so clearly, he was so intense on the sermon, and his head was sweating, he had thin hair, and his head was down, and it was almost like he was preaching at the pulpit instead of us.
And in his heart, it was just exploding in his heart, and he says,
at the invitation.
He says, you need to stand at the bridge of decision and look into the churning waters and dive to yourself and die to yourself and come up a new creature.
And I wanted to be a Christian at five years old.
And I understood it from my Sunday school teacher.
But when he spoke that...
It was a foundational thing to me.
