In relation to Janice Boylan, I never thought she was the right candidate.
I've lived in her ward, in the local authority ward for years.
I'm aware of her presence and she does work.
And I've nothing negative to say about her.
But did I ever believe that she could win this by-election?
No, I think the problem for Fianna Fรกil and Fine Gael is the longer they have been together, the worse it gets for both, but particularly Fianna Fรกil.
So these synergies are actually incredibly important.
They can't succeed against one another because only one can win, but without the other, the other won't win.
Well, I live in the constituency.

I'm only as far away as Dublin 7 at the moment.
No place in Ireland is more changed because of immigration than the north inner city of Dublin.
It's an area with a lot of problems.
This morning at 8 o'clock, this morning, it looked like a kip, frankly, right?
There were flat complexes and streets with tricolours pinned to the lampposts, which is not welcoming, frankly, to me, at least, right?
But we are absolutely transformed for the better because of immigration, because of the new people, different people in our community.
