They didn't want somebody to be successful who they couldn't control.
And I thought, why wouldn't you want somebody?
Chris Berman is the founding father of ESPN.
Yes, Bob Lee and Tom Meade, but without Chris, there's no ESPN.
And I thought, that guy has put in the time and the sweat equity.
I mean, to make this place stand out and not be all that little network thing
You know, it became more than that.
