I read so much.
I read so many newspapers when I was at CNN and ESPN, a constant, constant.
You know, all the great writers and columnists, I just wanted to consume it and understand it and appreciate it, the written word.
And I think it was just my way of saying, I can't do what you do.
That doesn't mean I couldn't learn to do it or you can do what I do.
It was just my way of sort of a drive-by compliment, you know, where you're passing the collection plate at church and you put money in it.

Well, I did it at the Mothership for quite a few years, and I've been out on my own, I think, now 18 years.
Well, because it wasn't based on four letters.
You can hide behind, you can lean on those four letters ESPN.
I didn't have that luxury.
I just knew I wanted to do it in a way that...
reflected my personality at ESPN.
