Vance thing is interesting because this doesn't make a lot of sense because Joe Biden actually ran for president and became president.
But for almost the entirety of the eight years of the Obama administration, no one thought Joe Biden was running for president.
And he was not doing a single thing to prepare himself for running for president.
He wasn't forming a PAC.
He wasn't going to early states.
It honestly wasn't until early 2015 when we were in a meeting in the Situation Room and the then vice president pulled me aside and told me,
That he was thinking of running for president and he wanted – that he had definitely – he had not fully ruled it out yet.
Yeah.
And he wanted to sit down and talk about it.
And that was the first – like I almost fell out of my chair.
Yeah.
Because I was surprised by it.
But why that matters – and then you had Cheney for eight years who was never running president.
So we haven't had a presidential candidate in waiting in the vice president's office since Al Gore.
And having to balance that loyalty to the president with their future political ambitions.
And so we're seeing that.
I think he's handling this incredibly poorly.
And it just shows a very simplistic view of politics.
