It's very, very small here.
But then obviously in the UK, there's a wrestling scene.
And then obviously that would be seen as almost as a stepping stone or a training ground.
for those and then obviously within America you do have the sort of regions still like you have other brands essentially other than the WWE which you're seeing as sort of the training ground or the sort of the fertile hunting ground for and he kind of made his way and he did trials and he spoke about competing off air for a couple of years before he actually made his television debut and then but his team his trajectory up
after that point seemed to be very very fast and he spoke about how the company you know they needed to take a place a bet on you know there's all i suppose in wrestling the more i've looked into it they're obviously they need this constant throughput of talent they can't rely on the sort of undertakers who's now 155 years old or whatever it is
to keep going they need the next generation so that's where I think he spoke about they had two competitors himself and a guy called Jack Swagger who I don't know an awful lot about but they went for Seamus and he obviously has but what was interesting is that he's now back in Dublin or even though he lives in Tennessee he's back
cementing roots with and I'll full disclosure here with my son's soccer club Glasnevin he's our sponsor you know he's reaching back out and he's also did this thing recently in Nafina like he was he was doing the NFL draft pick at Nafina for the Tennessee Titans so he's obviously you know I won't say legacy shopping but he's like he's very and he but I what was really interesting at the day up in Nafina we can talk more about it in post-match but he was there all day and you know some of these stars will come in they'll do an hour of handshake and then and shoot
He was there all day.
He showed an incredible amount of patience.
But what I saw was he actually seemed to get a buzz from it.
This is someone who genuinely wanted to give something back.
And I know it's a bit tweety and a bit cliched, but I was really impressed in the shift he put in.
I mean, he almost worked as hard as we make them work in the business post newsroom.
They were almost Adels shoeing the kids out of the way to get to him.
There's obviously a cohort of people who obviously are making decent money.
These are not just Captain Swearpants in your court at home.
These are guys with careers who obviously have grown up with that affinity of wrestling and stick with it who wanted to get their moment with Sheamus and got it.
subculture I never knew about you think this is what we bring this is what we bring anyway that's enough from us now it's time for our interview with Seamus conducted at Nafina GA Club in the last few days take a listen and we'll be back to you for the post-match analysis
Seamus, you're very welcome to the Business Post podcast.
You're back in Dublin, but you're based normally in Tennessee.
