And I always often used him as a shield because I was kind of like, I'm the performer, I'm the singer, I'm the emotional one, you know.

And he was, he was, like I said, if there was any, you know, anything needed to be done, that was him.

He was the enforcer, you know, like Argy Bargy with the label, with the management, anything that was him.

But,

seeing him in the studio that's where we you know completed each other you know I love probably just because I'm not comparing but just because of how intrinsic it was with Lennon and McCartney like they literally finished each other's sentences you know it was you could hear Paul's verse and you could hear you know John's pre and then the chorus and you could hear in their writing

It's very similar with me and Mark.

Mark would come in, he'd have an idea for a chorus and then I'd have, oh, what about the post?

What if we go, I'm not moving on the end or fall into pieces or he brought Break Even in and I said, well, I'm hardly going to write a better lyric than that so let me work on the chorus.

So I wrote there, what am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you?

I'm falling to pieces, I'm falling to pieces and we all wrote that, the pieces bit together and stuff.

But it was like yin and yang.

It was like basically sparring, emotional lyric sparring with one of the, what I thought was like, he's a world champion as far as lyrics go, you know?
