Right.
He didn't have the chance to fall in his face, but he didn't have a chance to succeed either.
And it's not fair to say one guy had this stage and the other didn't.
And therefore, we're going to vote for one guy over the other.
I don't think that most voters will take it into account.
I certainly haven't taken it into account.
But it's worth noting only because it has never happened before.
It has never in NBA history happened that this vote happens after multiple play-in games.
And it's just a quirk of the 65-game rule, which is new, combining with a play-in, which is still relatively new.
And so we've never seen something like this.
And while I think most voters are capable of making the distinction...
You know, there's the reason why the term recency bias exists in sports is because it's real.
I mean, it happens.
That's not how I organize it, right?
And I was always counting on Luka making it.
There is no way the NBA is going to tell a player, I'm punishing you for going to the birth of your child.
I mean, it's terrible optics, and it's actually not the way that the NBA front office thinks.
They want their players to support their families.
So Luka was always going to get in there.
I was surprised at Cade, but I had kind of the different variables.
