It isn't.
But that's because of how successful the program is.
I think I've shared this with you guys, and I don't think his position has changed on this.
I had an exchange with him several weeks ago, and it wasn't Toronto-specific, to be fair.
It was just kind of gauging his interest in making the jump to the NHL.
And he didn't get into the weeds in it, but...
The sense that I get is timing is everything for him because he's got a young family.
You know, it would have to be the right fit.
But I do wonder, and I'm not trying to say that he wouldn't be interested in the Toronto Maple Leafs because it's a coveted job.
Regardless of where the Leafs are and what we think they're going to be next year, there aren't too many...
Head coaches with good programs, development programs that wouldn't want to crack at the Toronto Maple Leafs.
So I'm not here to say that he isn't interested.
Just the messaging around him prior to the Maple Leafs getting rid of Craig Berube was that, nah, this may not be the right timing yet for David Carl to make that jump.
I knew he wasn't playing last night.
But you got to be careful, right, in reporting that as definitively as I just said it.
Right.
Because this guy plays, they all play through a ton of stuff, right?
The fact they lost game one, now I wonder if the percentages of him playing game two increase somewhat significantly because my understanding is the type of injury that he has.
as long as he can get to a place where he's comfortable playing with it and can execute even at 60%, then he'll probably step into the series.
Because, look, there's a huge difference going down to the Vegas Golden Knights to love.
