Well, you know, whenever you're evaluating a coach, you know, I believe how effective was that coach in maximising the amount of talent that they were given.
And I think you're absolutely spot on.
We could all see that Australia was short of talent.
But Dave maximised every bit of that to get the performances he did out of that team.
And the same can be said for Joe Smith and what he's been doing with Australia.
We can all see that they're improving with the talent they've got.
So I agree that given that we've got talented players here in New Zealand, albeit our depth probably isn't as strong as what it has been over the years for various factors,
But I'm excited by the fact that he will have that talent pool to pick from, a very smart coaching team.
They'll work out what are the strengths of that group was selected and what's the playing style that will properly match that identity and one that New Zealanders will get behind and support.
Do we have the players who are big enough and strong enough?
No.
Well, that's always been a criticism around, you know, we're not South Africa.
You know, we don't have huge men and play the way that they play.
So, you know, the skill to a coach is going, okay, this is what we've got on our roster.
You know, these are the strengths of that team.
I'm going to put a game plan together or a game style that's going to match
you know, that roster.
And we've got, you know, if we wanted to select big, we could go that way.
But typically as a New Zealand All Blacks team, we like big athletic men who are skillful.
And that's what we produce.
