He has a psychotic episode driving on the highway and he starts shooting at other cars while he's driving because he thinks they're following him.

Somebody's shooting.
Somebody's firing live rounds out on the highway.

Dispatch the helicopter.
So Fats Holmes shoots at the helicopter and he hits one of the cops in the ankle.
Ernie Holmes gets some treatment, goes on to win two more Super Bowls, and when you mention Fats Holmes around Pittsburgh, they say, ha ha, that Fats, he had the arrow shaved into his head.
