And that's no more to goaltender's eyes than it is the Buffalo player's eyes.
tough luck.
You may contact a glove.
That's a good goal.
If you don't want that to happen, stay within the confines of your blue paint and it will be called back.
If that had happened in the blue paint, if that glove hadn't been breaking that plane, that would have been goaltender interference.
And that's the biggest difference.
And the way I try and I'm oversimplifying here, but the way I try and describe it is when the goaltender breaks the plane of that crease and
he becomes almost like a defenseman.
We can still call interference.
If a forward runs a defenseman over, if a forward crosschecks a defenseman or a forward slashes a defenseman, we call a penalty.
And the same thing applies to the goaltender not being in his crease.
But if you commit a bump a defenseman when you're actually trying to get the puck or you're trying to vie for position on the ice, that's all legal.
And that's what a lot of people don't seem to understand that.
You know, if more guys applied that to the game, we would have a much easier job.
It's been an honor, guys.
Thanks a lot.
