he doesn't seem to be learning that's not true um that you know his previous attempts to do that haven't really paid off or been lasting um but also his base i mean the people and i said you know yes eventually they'll come around they'll grit their teeth because it's a cult of personality and they'll support whatever he does um but they're gonna hate it um he promised the one thing he you know he promised them just a few things because donald trump doesn't you know he says a
of things he promised he'd release the epstein files and he promised no wars in the middle east and and so i don't unders i don't know how this um works out for him unless we have you know look it's possible we'd have some kind of smashing amazing you know one week victory the iranian machine falls the mullahs you know
pride, surrender, and democracy takes root in Iran.
I was one of the people who supported the Iraq War, and I'm chastened by that experience.

lately i mean i say lately erratic by his standards and i think that's saying something because i think you know he really has reached the point where almost all of his public statements make no sense um he clearly has kind of lost most of the time that he's speaking off the cuff um and so i i you know this could be anything he it may be for glory he may think he's going to eradicate their nuclear program
I don't know, but I can say this.
When you go into a major conflict without a clear statement, either internally to your own people or externally especially to the American public whose children are going to have to fight this war, that's a bad plan because then how do you know when you're done?
How do you know what the point of this is?
I think Tom's last point to what you're saying now is a key one, because the last two big, splashy military operations Trump has ordered, one was the capture of Nicolas Maduro.
That was a case of hours they got in and out.
The previous one was the 12 day war with Iran in June.
And in that case, the objective was very specifically limited to destroying three nuclear sites in Iran.
