So, you know, given the choice of waiting for a few more hours, I'll obviously take the wait.

And, yeah, just as I got that news and the nurse who was sort of looking after me at the time said to me, so you think you'll surf again?

Yeah.

I'd just been told, you know, that I'd probably got to cut my arm off.

To me, that was a great thing because it made me think about something else.

And I said, yeah, I'll surf again.

I said, my love of the ocean is far greater than my fear of sharks.

I said, so I'll be surfing again.

Yeah.

I said, I'll figure it out.

If I've even got one arm, I'll still figure it out somehow.

There'll be some way to do it.

So yeah.

The next morning early, they prepped me and the surgeon said that the trauma surgeon they had in there, he said, look, I've looked at everything.

And he said, be prepared.

We're not going to know what the result is.

And he said, but I will try and save your arm if I can.

And he did.

So I woke up out of surgery.

And apparently sometimes you wake up out of surgery.
