And the beautiful thing about this four-step method is it's very simple.
It can be applied very quickly.
And it takes advantage of what we call top-down and bottom-up control of stress, intercepting stress in your head, attaining to your thoughts, thinking, emotions, and intercepting stress in your body or controlling stress in your body.
And so it goes through these four steps.
So I was standing there about to get up, overwhelmed.
I could feel I wasn't in control.
Step one, embrace the stress.
Well, what does that mean to me?
It's just like step into it.
I just literally imagined I was just grabbing it and pulling it in.
Yeah.
You've got to want to be in the fire.
And so the second step is to direct your self-talk.
And so I said to myself, I'm calm.
I'm centered.
I'm focused.
I've got this.
I'm going to get up there.
I'm going to smash it.
