So at the time, the band cancelled all tour dates and disbanded in 2013 before the end of Watkins' trial. Watkins pleaded guilty to several charges.

And so I went onto Wikipedia, lost profits. In 2012, Watkins was charged with multiple sexual offenses against kids, infants, and animals. Wow. Just like the worst of the worst. So at the time, the band cancelled all tour dates and disbanded in 2013 before the end of Watkins' trial. Watkins pleaded guilty to several charges.

In December of 2013, he was sentenced to 29 years of imprisonment plus six years of extended supervision.

Vic of PS Surveil's description of typical male emo attire sounded a lot like the typical male beatnik attire of the early 60s. So maybe emo roots go back to the beatnik era as those old cool cats also expressed themselves in similar moody ways through poetry and prose.
