And I was like, Oh, okay, cool.

And I'm talking to him for a minute and he had a backpack on.

And like his stuff and he was all sketched out and I guess he was just about to go on the run.

Well, he actually was on the run.

So I found out just sitting there talking to him because I'm asking questions.

I found out that he just broke out of his youth facility and he was coming home to get clothes to run away.

Wow.

And me and him just hit it off.

I sat down with him on the grass right by the retaining wall.

And we sat there for 30 minutes and I told my whole life story.

And here's this kid in tears, like not knowing what to do.

He's been through it.

And I just like, man, it's okay to go back and finish your program.

I want you to know, you know, and we just hit it off.

And so I'm sitting here thinking I'm going to bust the guy that stole my car.

I'm wanting to know why my intuition is telling me not to press charges.

And then I'm sitting here with this kid.

who I was where he was at, and now I'm able to help him.

And it was just incredible.

Then all these cops show up, his caseworker.
