If you're a team, you know, I don't think the Phillies or Dodgers would be interested in him just because of how they're, you know,
how their roster's set up.
But a team like that with a track record of applying a certain viewpoint to pitchers they acquire, I think would see some upside, even in an older pitcher who's, you know,
I don't want to like saying he's on the decline is probably overstating things like it makes it sound like he's in a phase of his career that he that he's not.
But, you know, he's not what he was a couple of years ago.
And so I think that that's an attractive situation.
You know, like you said, the teams that are more cash rich that can are trying to stay under certain CBT thresholds.
You know, I think that that's that's an attractive player who's going to be much more discussed at the deadline than he was last year.
But that said, the National League, I mean, both leagues, their wildcard situations are kind of crap right now.
So it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Marlins are still in it, and you might as well just let it ride with this guy.
And I think they were smart not to sell him for pennies on the dollar last year, and now they've got options based on if they think they can hang in the wildcard race, they can hang on to him, and he can maybe make a playoff start for them.
If not, we've seen with Bieber and a couple other guys that you can still get
a pretty good return for a guy with maybe some question marks about his ultimate ceiling.
For now, Caleb Durbin could still break out.
And where have you seen that growth?
So one of my favorite players in the league is Geraldo Perdomo, who was a legit, you know, top three or four MVP guy last year after having come up as kind of a, like a punch and Judy hitting defense for shortstop.
And what he did was he added a little bit of bat speed to an offensive profile that already included elite contact skills.
And, and this is important elite plate discipline.
He was making really, really good swing decisions.
He just wasn't doing much with the ball once he got the bat to it.
