And you guys were talking about it with Zach right before I jumped on with Phil Deneau and how important his play is.
Let's not forget.
Phil Deneau, his number one duty in the playoffs with L.A.
against Edmonton was going up against Connor McDavid's line.
So now, you know, you take that into effect.
You've got, you know, presumably Suzuki's line that's going to try to shut, even though they had a great offensive type game, but try to shut down Carolina's top line.
Well, now you've got Phil Deneau and his line going up, presumably, as the series moves along a little bit more against that Hall, Blake, and Stankoven line.
So now you've got two defensive-minded center-run lines against Carolina's two primary offensive units.
I think Montreal's got a little more depth offensively, at least what we've seen in these playoffs, than the Hurricanes so far.
Look, I'm not expecting this to happen every game.
right?
Like this, the Carolina is a hell of a team and they're going to bounce back.
But what the Canadians were able to do in that period or in that, excuse me, in that game, but especially in that second period, that's what impressed me the most from the Canadians.
Wasn't the offense, you know, that was great.
It was just their ability to shut things down from Carolina's attack approach because they can be relentless and just box everything out as much as they could.
You know, I talked to a couple buddies of mine that no longer are playing in the NHL but have that cup experience, and they both told โ actually, a few of them told me, you know, yes, the Canadians have fatigue, but it's young fatigue.
They're the youngest team in the league, and when you've got that youth on your side โ
You just power through it.
You just keep going.
It's like going outside when you're a kid playing street hockey and you're out there for four hours.
