And so you've kind of got to ask the question.
These are the people making the rules and benefiting from the rules.
Yeah, I'm not saying that that's why politicians have kept the rules, but it can't help.

Yeah, disappointed and frustrated and actually pretty angry.
I think like a lot of younger Australians, before I got into politics, I didn't have kids.
I just found the ads annoying.
It wasn't something I was that into.
I'd seen the impact on a few teammates over the years who'd had problems.
But it was kind of just this thing that I thought, well, this just doesn't sit that well.
But I didn't really know too much about it.
And over the past four years,
You actually get to sit down with the experts who are studying this and see, one, the impact it's having on young Australians.
These companies advertise because it works.
We're now in a situation where we have normalized gambling, sports betting, for a whole generation of Australians.
75% of young people now just think this is just how you enjoy sport, is you have to place a bet to enjoy it.
And then, yeah, I guess seeing the impact on families that addiction has and then you talk to people who are trying to deal with it and they say it's basically impossible because you're just flooded with ads.
You think you're dealing with it and then you get that inducement, that free bet, and you're back on it.
And some of the saddest meetings I've had are with young people who've lost a brother.
