A little bit more selective.
You can bring them in the zone a little bit in the same way that if you're hitting breakers a little better, maybe you get a couple more fastballs because they can't just show you spin to try to get you out.
So suddenly they got to come back with fastballs to get you out, and then you're back to eating on those fastballs at the top of the zone.
Okay, let's look ahead to this weekend a little bit, and I've got one Pirates question for you, but we'll set the Pirates up with former major leaguer Matt Clement in the next segment.
I did want to ask, Paul Skeens is going Saturday.
You were on this series.
I imagine Shy and BNS will be around.
Arden is on the TV side.
How do you guys go about, like, does Shy just get to be like, he's shy, so if he wants to write the Skeens sidebar on Saturday, he can?
Do you guys draw straws or what?
Yes.
So yeah, he saw them obviously at home, like in Pittsburgh last year, and then he missed the Blue Jays when they were here in 2024.
Yeah.
So this is, I believe it's his first time pitching at Rogers Center.
It was decent, but... I mean, heck, if you told me they were going to get two runs over six innings against Skeens on Saturday, I'd take that.
Yeah, it's also I'm on the Skeens part and what you mentioned about him being very methodical.
It got in my head.
So there was like, I don't think Skeens ever actually talked about this, but I remember seeing like the pitching analyst guys late last year when the Pirates were out of it being like, I think Paul Skeens is doing side quests.
Like he's going into the game and he's like, I'm not going to use this pitch today or I'm going to try this because he had a sub two era and the pirates are kind of out of it.
So he kind of went into development mode.
