And so I need to take a long, hard look at our roster.
With Kodai, he's obviously had a couple tough injuries, but he's also had a couple mechanical issues where he couldn't come back and just wasn't himself.
Look, Kodai's had two very inconsistent, challenging years in a row.
We know what's in there.
We know there's potential.
We're going to do everything we can to help get it out of him.
But no, can we put him in ink as making 30 starts next year?
I think that would be foolish.
And Francisco Alvarez, does he need some kind of surgery or operation?
He'll need surgery to repair his ligament.
He's going to have that in the coming days.
I'll repeat what I said.
We're not going to take anything off the table.
I think long term for the Mets...
The best thing we can do is develop our own frontline starters.
I think we're on our way to do that.
I think we're demonstrating that.
And so our main emphasis is going to continue to be there.
But we're certainly not going to take anything off the table.
