I had a lot of first ones, but I still own about 400 houses right now.

Okay, so I'll tell you, I had a dad who was born during the Depression time, great dad, great example, hard worker, but never made a lot of money.
And his whole thought was every dime you have, you got to keep, right?
Pay cash when you can.
And I was lucky enough to realize that wasn't working for him.
So...
When I got that first place... Wait, what was it working for him?
My dad probably made $35,000, $40,000 a year the most ever in his life.
Cars.
He was a mechanic and a collision repair shop guy.
Got it.
So...
So how I evolved is maxing out and pulling out the money out of each house that I had equity in.
So I got that house done.
I refined and pulled out as much cash as I could.
I took that money and went and got the next one.
I got an old rundown X mansion and I put 10 apartments in it.
I lived in one of the apartments.
I renovated it.
