And he changed the exact sound to match more of the Not Like Us hyphy type of shit.
I think he couldn't give us, which is undoubtedly his biggest record with Not Like Us.
I don't think he could give us that and have people in that frequency and then go too far away from that on the next album.
And what's funny is I thought he was going to do the complete opposite.
Like when he did Let the Party Die, I was like, oh, Kendrick is probably going to go in the complete opposite direction of Not Like Us.
This entire album is just an extension of that sound.
Not that I'm mad at it, but it made me think Kendrick, who typically does whatever the fuck he wants to do and doesn't really play into what he thinks the audience wants.
I think leaned into his biggest record yet and was like, I have to just continue this sound.
It's working, which I would have never expected Kendrick to do.
I mean, I think he went all the way California on it, which is cool, which is dope.
But this is a very Cali album.
The sound, the lyrics, you know, the references in it, the artists that he collabed with.
