I thought he'd already been done for it.
Well, I met him in town because he had a small shop selling mainly wood and goods, tables and things like that.
And so I think he was a self-made carpenter.
He did some sort of training, but I don't know exactly what in.
He was very good at what he did.
Yeah, I became very good friends with the family because at that stage they were going to church and I'm a church person anyway and so we became friends and then later on, as time went on, he was looking for some sort of a workshop and he was thinking of leasing one building in town
And whatever buildings came up, they didn't go through.
And I said, well, you've got big machinery.
I've got a shed that I've got.
So you could use my shed and I'll use your machinery.
So we had a bit of a handshake deal on that one.
And I never had any real problems.
He tried to get me to cash in my superannuation, which at that stage I couldn't because the only stipulations back then to cash in your superannuation was to put it into secured debentures through banks or whatever.
And I wasn't of age to be able to take out and use the money.
Otherwise, I lost about 30% of it.
