Chapter 2: Who is Derek Bellington Sam and what is his connection to the disappearances?
I thought he'd already been done for it.
Gus has had a bit of a dark past with his criminal past. I know of one incident in New Zealand where he was drink driving and got pulled over by a police officer and he went round the back of the car and picked up a big spanner or a wrench and he attacked the police officer with him and did a lot of harm. He did prison time for that but the case was quite horrific.
How do three women disappear without a trace? Not one thing. We're talking about a young girl, a 16-year-old girl who's just disappeared. She's supposed to be in Brisbane with family and she just wasn't there. And I remember thinking that she was very cool. Just sort of a vibrant personality.

Good morning from Ilki on the Sunshine Coast, I believe that's how you pronounce it. It's a small little area near Nambour and right now I'm sitting on a small little balcony of my Airbnb cabin that I've rented for four or five days. I'm sitting looking out right now at this beautiful bush.
Chapter 4: How does Ryan plan to investigate the missing persons cases?
And aside from that car that's just going past right now, all I've heard this morning is just beautiful bird song. The sun is rising through the trees just ahead of me. It's really that stunning part of the day. It's still pretty early. It's not even six o'clock yet, but a jet lag helps get you up very early sometimes. New Zealand to Australia.
So I'm just enjoying a coffee, but making a plan for the day. And my plan is a fairly simple one to start with. So we've sort of created a hit list, so to speak, of the people I want to try and find and speak to on this trip. you know, which is at this point looking like it's going to be one of the last trips, depending on what happens, depending on what happens.
Chapter 5: What leads does Ryan follow in the hinterland of Australia?
But so we want to make sure that we're really hitting some of those key people that we haven't heard from yet. You know, on top of that list is, you know, people connected to Eric Glassop's family, as well as the Neil family, But then also as well, in connection to the Gus lead, Ian Glittle, who we had previously thought
because Debbie had thought this, that he had passed away, I think we've come to realise that no, in fact, he's not passed away at all. He's very much alive and still owns the same property, the same workshop that he did all those years ago. The workshop where Gus worked and the workshop where Debbie and I visited that day and knocked on the door and no one was home.
So my first plan today is just to drive straight there. It's about an hour's drive from where I am. Not quite an hour. And go knock on his door and see if he's there.
Chapter 6: What shocking discovery does Ryan make about Ian Glittle?
And I really feel that Ian is either going to pour cold water all over this lead in some ways, or quite the opposite. Remember, I've sort of just been going off of Debbie's
um what Debbie's been saying in terms of Ian you know saying corroborating her story and that he went to the police and so on so yeah it'll be one of those nervous ones let's see how it goes and first of all let's hope that he is alive and we're right with this and secondly that he is there it's a Saturday today so I'm hoping that he will be home and not at work or something although I assume he's he may be retired now I'm not sure
And then after that, it's kind of one of those things, we'll play it by ear a little bit. We'll see what happens from that because he may pass me on to someone else that I can go visit immediately. You know, he obviously spent a fair bit of time with Gus in his workshop, so he may know other people that have choice words to say about Gus.
Yeah, sometimes you just leave the schedule a little bit open after an interview or a hopeful interview like that just in case. But I've got some other people around Kenilworth that I'll go and meet hopefully too if that doesn't pan out. Yeah, but right now I've got a little bit more time to just enjoy this beautiful view, this beautiful morning, sunrise coming through the trees.

Yeah, absolutely lovely. Right, next time you hear from me, I will be on the road. And I've got my camera with me, so I'll be recording a ton of video content this time. We're really trying to push this video content now, and we'll be putting that up through our YouTube channel and through the War Room.
So I had someone message just yesterday and say, hey, I only just finally, I've been a subscriber a long time, and I only just got around to getting into the War Room on the website, and he said, wow, like,
i can't believe how awesome it is all the video content the maps and everything you can tell a lot of effort goes into this and it it's very impressive and we do put a lot of effort into it we really do um i believe more than any other podcast that i've seen of our type um so you know make sure you give it a look it could be well worth it especially if you're already a subscriber i mean it's right there you're paying for it already okay that's enough for me
If you've listened to this podcast long enough, or frankly, even just this season, you'll know that I have a real issue with key witnesses being dead. There is nothing more disheartening for me than finding a potentially groundbreaking lead only to discover that the key witness in question has passed away. So to learn that in fact, for a change, the opposite had occurred.
Someone I thought was dead turned out to be alive was quite the shock.

Chapter 8: What evidence connects Gus to the disappearances of Anne and Celina?
However, I have no number and no contact details for Ian, only his address. I don't know if he lives there or what the situation is, but I've just flown two and a half thousand kilometres to knock on the door and see what happens. Have I completely wasted my time or will this be the break I'm looking for? Okay, I've just gone past Little Yeba Creek.
where Ann's car was found and passed her house. Now I've just turned off. I've only driven probably two minutes up the road. Into the location I'm pretty sure is where the workshop is. Yep, I'm just coming up to the AT intersection now. Eastern Mary River Road. And here's the workshop, and there's a car here. There's a car here. Someone is home. Here we go. This could be very interesting.
Now, I heard Ian was a nice guy. Just hopefully this goes the way that I'm hoping. Now, I'm just going to say that I drove past Little Yabba Creek just then, and the distance from that car park to this workshop, it really, it's only about two minutes. I'm deadly serious. It took me about two minutes to get here. Here we go. Moment of truth.

You would happen to be Ian, would you? You would? Just the man I'm looking for. To my astonishment, there he was, sitting on his balcony, having a coffee, eating his breakfast. Ian, the man who wasn't dead. I'm a journalist. I'm working on an old story from about 25 years ago.
What old story is that?
A story that may involve a man by the name of Gus. Thanks, mate. Ian's home is effectively a large three-bedroom extension of his workshop. The workshop he once shared with Gus, sitting high on stilts in the classic Queenslander style. It looks out over a beautiful field of long grass, surrounded by trees, which runs right to the edge of the nearby Mary River.
