And after the crash, I just said, I just can't do it again.
I cannot work those 60 hour weeks and with a small baby and I just, I didn't want to do it.
I just couldn't do it.
I wanted to do something completely different.
And we just both decided we wanted a fresh start.
So Australia was our opportunity to do something completely different.
Oh, God, I was like, I was addicted to stories the moment I discovered them.
When I was a baby, mum maintains I learned to read when I was three.
I don't know that could possibly be true because I kind of remember it.
I remember...
following my mum around the house and my older siblings, trying to get them to read me more stories.
And no one would read me enough stories.
So I learned to read.
My mum had seven kids.
She was always busy.
She worked full time.
So I would sit at her feet when she was washing up or ironing or whatever she was doing.
And I would call out the letters because I knew my letters.
She would tell me the sounds and then I could figure out the word.
That's how I learned to read.
