I made some great friends within the football club and within the city.
And, yeah, it was a brilliant time.
And I don't think anybody, when I signed in 1999, anybody expected the journey or the ride we're going to go on for the next six or seven years.

Well, I think that's part of it.
As you know, Jamie, if you want to perform on a Saturday or a Wednesday or every three days, then you've got to be in a happy place.
And I always felt that having the odd pint or having the odd glass of wine made me switch off because for me, I know that everybody's different.
You've got players, you've got to train 100% every day.
And my take was always that I'm getting paid to play on a Saturday on a Wednesday, not train on a Monday or Tuesday, which Sammy Lee didn't want to hear.
It didn't go down too well with him.
But I think for me, it was always important to forget about football, not think about it.
And, you know, people these days tell you, you've got to think about things.
You've got to think about your position.
I probably never thought about the game that's been played on Saturday, three o'clock up until half two when we went out to warm up.
That's how I approach things and that's how it worked for me.
And, you know, I learned from the best from you.
I remember our first night in Bootle, which I'll never forget.
