And you're like, I don't know, like just start chest compressions.
So that's why we're like, Hey, do you see good chest rise and fall?
If the answer is no, then start chest compressions.
Like you're not going to, you do less harm that way.
But these patients, these opioid response, uh, Narcan or opioid responses, a respiratory suppression.
So you may not see them breathing super well, but they need Narcan, um,
And the problem comes in that I've seen, especially like on the law enforcement side, they're squirting Narcan up their nose.
And so now it's sitting in the nasal cavity and the absorption rate is not great.
And so we really need a BVM, a bag valve mask to get that circulating into the respiratory system and get it absorbed.
So we're getting on scene with cops pushing six and eight milligrams of Narcan.
And we're like, hey, stop for a second.
Let's ventilate this patient because this is not a heart problem.
This is a respiratory problem.
But then just recognizing that the need for Narcan is going to stop that.
And now basically if you get these control meds or whatever, they're giving Narcan away for free.
Like I just saw a Facebook post today that the mental health department here in my county is giving away Narcan for free.
So they're like, hey, if you think you have somebody on this or whatever, like here's Narcan, let's give it out.
So I think the more easy access we have to Narcan, the better off we're going to be.
And honestly, as a provider, like I feel like my mind has changed even over the last couple of years about these types of calls.
I'm like, I've been there.
