Happy New Year. Yeah, Happy New Year.

Chapter 6: How does dispatcher CPR support bystanders during emergencies?

71.668 - 74.975 Dietrich

This is our first episode of the new year. We had a pretty good run last year.

Chapter 7: What practical steps can civilians take to prepare for emergencies?

75.355 - 83.972 Dietrich

We recorded, once we got into a good pattern, we were recording just about every month right up to the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We kind of took a break there, but we recorded a good bit last year.

Chapter 8: Why is confidence important in performing CPR?

83.992 - 84.493 Dietrich

It was kind of good.

85.081 - 101.926 Unknown

Yeah, it was nice. A lot of good topics, a lot of interesting things. And we took a break off of the holidays because absolutely nothing happened in the world that was of any interest to civilian medical people over the last few months. There's been No major events at all. So we had nothing to talk about.

0

101.946 - 123.252 Dietrich

There's nothing going on right now in major events that would affect citizens or no matter what political side you're on, like nothing going on right now. And that's a whole nother topic. We might do that next month. But I almost thought about this episode is like, all right, should we talk about like the riots and protests and stuff like on the civilian side and try to stay, I guess, apolitical?

0

123.392 - 125.955 Dietrich

Is that a word? Like you're way smarter than me.

0

125.935 - 150.61 Dietrich

uh like to say like keep keep politics out of it like no matter what side you're on but talk about like all right you they're protesting in your your city your neighborhood and they're rioting whatever so maybe the next episode and kind of talk about that but i did a blog on the medical gear channel about like what you could carry things like that some minor things but uh maybe next month we can talk about that just some basics and like we'll keep it

150.59 - 171.552 Dietrich

Cause I don't want to go like, I think people understand like what side I'm on. So, uh, if you're on the right side, there's our side, the side. Um, but, um, but I don't want to offend our listeners either. So, uh, I'm sure we have people on both sides of the aisle there. They're listening to our podcast. So maybe just keep it neutral and talk about some things that they could carry.

171.633 - 196.607 Unknown

Yeah, staying politically neutral. I did just actually get back from Minneapolis. I was there on Monday and Tuesday. I stayed in downtown. I saw my office is north of downtown, and I saw absolutely nothing that would indicate anything was out of the ordinary there. Occasionally graffiti, I guess. There was some graffiti that was obviously recently added, but no protest.

196.647 - 203.8 Unknown

I didn't at any time feel unsafe there. I feel like it's probably pretty centralized to specific areas of town that I was not in.

204.218 - 226.717 Dietrich

Yeah, that's what it was. When they protested and rioted here in Greenville, South Carolina years ago, it was a block. One block of the city was where they were at. But if you watch the news media, they think that Minneapolis is a war zone and really is very centralized where that location is at. But maybe we can talk about that and think about scene safety, security.
