sometimes you find people in like a project just makes so much sense for them like they like they're like truly a cd is like so important i don't know we have two creative directors right now philip and mike carson who did uh kendrick lamar's album for major laser because i'm like yo there's power like a creative director a good one is like more powerful than a producer these days like to have them really translate the music into like what is what's the visual element because that's what people that's what people see when they want they're not getting they're not like giving their attention to a full
12 tracks on a vinyl, they're giving their attention to what the 15 seconds is.
So you gotta make sure it really makes sense.
It's you, it's cutting edge, it's thought provoking, you know?
I think of Childish Gambino, This is America, like that video was so fucking good.
That song wasn't like, that song should not be number one hit.
Like that, but that video was, everybody watched it was like, yo, this is a message.
This is like, and that's always been my thing.
Like what's video formats, like not dead.
Like you have to give people,
an image to sell it.
Like when I first saw Tell Me When To Go by E-40,
I was like, bro, this, I want to like, I want to be, I want to make hyphy music now.
Like this culture I didn't really know about, like the cars and the black and white and Lil Jon.
And like, I was like, I didn't understand, I didn't know Bay Area music that much until I saw that video or even back when Souls of Mischief came out and I saw them dancing and they were skateboarding.
There's always like a thing that connects you with culture and that's what makes you, draws you into it.
That's what K-pop's really good at, giving you that culture, which is, you know, K-pop really is no culture.
They do whatever the fuck they want.
But the actual format, there's something about it.
The magic is K-pop, you know?
