Had it not been for your mother and Jasmine, who encouraged us to have a conversation with each other, and it changed how I felt.
And as a matter of fact, when it happened to you and CNN happened, I was one of the very first people who called you and had a conversation with you.
I was proud of the way you comported yourself then.
I had never seen somebody have such a public excoriation and handled this, because we're used to seeing people being cowed and humbled.
But you became, like, there's an old saying that without a death, there can't be a resurrection.
And the reason these people are here now
