Is that the highest amount of money you've ever talked about in one of your meetings?

Do you sleep okay?

Yeah.

It just seems like it's an unimaginable amount of pressure and some really big decisions that affect a lot of people.

One thing I've read about you, your philosophy seems to revolve around finding the good in people.

Yeah.

Is that always possible?

What percentage of the time is it possible?

What were you doing in a prison?

Well, funny you should say that.

I had a guest on the podcast earlier this year called Ben Paroa.

I think he was a finalist for one of the farmers of the year.

I know, I know, exactly, yeah.

Terrible upbringing, manslaughter charge at 17.

Correct.

Got into farming and I think one of the prisoners, one of the Central North Island ones, and farming has changed his life.

Yeah.

Also inspirational was the farmers that took him on after his incarceration because he had a couple of missteps along the way.

And there were people involved that just didn't give up on him and saw in him what he was yet to see in himself, which is really cool.

Well, it's best for all of us as a functioning society if these people get out and stay out.
