Eight in ten of the more than 1,300 respondents say the recent rise in gas prices is putting a strain on their household budgets.
The war in Iran has led directly to those prices surging, and most are blaming President Trump for the increase.
As a result, the poll found Trump with just a 37% approval rating and 59% disapproving, his worst score in the poll of either presidential term.
His economic approval is down to 35 percent, and on his handling of Iran, it's just 33 percent.
Democrats appear to be benefiting.
When respondents were asked who they would vote for if congressional elections in their districts were held today, they sided with Democrats by 10 points.

Our poll finds Democrats with a 10-point advantage on the congressional ballot test.
That's when we ask who people would vote for if the congressional elections were held today in their district.
52% say a Democrat, 42% say a Republican.
Democrats also have the advantage on enthusiasm.
61% say that they're enthusiastic, very enthusiastic to vote in these midterms.
Just 47% of those who voted for Trump in 2024
Those would be the kinds of things indicative of a pretty big election wave.
It's why the Senate, for example, looks within reach for Democrats, even if it is still a reach.
