Like physically, I started doing vocal training like for the year before.
Because also, I found myself losing my voice during awards season.
And I was like, I know that I want to do a play.
And then I knew that it was going to be this play.
And so I really wanted to get ready.
And that required just a lot of learning about my instrument…
Things that also I think I was in practice with but not consciously when I was doing stand-up on the regular.
And then since doing a lot more TV and film, it's just a muscle you don't have to use.
I don't have to reach the back of the room when I'm mic'd.
So that was definitely a part of it.
And…
I think when we knew that it was going to happen, we would talk about the script and sort of read it.
I don't know when you like had started actively memorizing.
Pretty early.
But I just had tried to get it into my bones as much as possible.
And then when I knew… I wanted to start earlier.
And then Bear ended up happening.
Then you had to do it.
