Fast roping is designed to enable SEALs a rapid insertion into areas of rough terrain or obstacles that would prevent a suitable landing zone.
The height of the fast rope is dependent on the target area, but can be held up to 90 feet, the equivalent of a nine-story building, with close to 100 pounds of combat equipment aboard each Navy SEAL operator.
