So it's a matter of finding that balance of getting the right guys in the right spots, but also finding them when you know that the defense is showing towards, hey...
dame is in the corner he only shoots when he's in the corner let me put a guy in the middle so that when they try to pass the corner i'm there to intercept it figure out a way to take that you know what you know we did a couple times pump fake took that one dribble towards the corner okay i'm out in the wing take oh i'm out in the wing they come out and take the shot pump fake
then go to the corner where you're wide open and hit those threes.
I think that's the key is trying to give the defense something they're not used to because then they react differently.
And then again, it opens up the opens up the floor for other options that are better.
Jason, the last thing that I have in the bad is, and it's kind of a weird thing because
like the game against UNC, we didn't see a lot of foul shots in this game.
I mean, Duke only takes eight free throws in this game.
They make five of them, so okay, I'm decent with that.
But I think it's interesting that once again in the second half, Pitt didn't have a lot of fouls until the very end when they were trying to prolong the game somewhat.
They didn't really have that many fouls called.
And I'm wondering...
Because usually in February and March, we almost see a tightening of the whistle from referees.
We see them call games a little bit tighter because they don't want games to get out of hand closer to March.
And it feels like they've started to allow teams to be more physical, again, within reason.
And so teams have figured out a way.
I mean, last night Pitt only has 12 fouls.
That would have been tied for the lowest number if we didn't play UNC yet.
And so I'm thinking about how over the past couple of weeks, we've seen the number of foul shots we've taken go down.
We've seen the number of fouls called or that we've drawn go down.
