Come on.
You're better than this.
And then we put the show on and that's it.
And then it's Saturday night.
After the sketches are picked, that's when the writers go and meet with all of the various department heads on the show, such as hair and makeup and costume, wardrobe, set design, to discuss what their needs are, what's required to produce each of those sketches.
It's amazing.
Like the crew there, there are still people there.
I left the show in 2011.
I started in 2001.
There are still people there.
not currently who were there when i started i mean they're like lifers so they know their jobs so well and it's you know as i said this well-oiled machine um and you basically so as a writer you would just kind of go from department head to department head saying okay here's what i need for the set here's what i need from costumes and so on and then they just get on it um and they're
Incredible.
Yeah.
Amazing.
Amazingly talented.
That's Wednesday.
That's right after the sketches are picked.
Are they building stuff that still might not go on?
correct because there are more sketches are selected to be produced than actually will be on the live version of the show we um that's why the dress rehearsal is half an hour longer than the actual show um some material is invariably going to be uh cut they go in fat you know um that
based on audience reaction and and what the host of the show that week prefers they will make us yeah yeah and and how what what time and is there just rehearsal on friday night um there's they're rehearsing things they're blocking out scenes for the camera people and what angles they want you know when do they want a three shot when do they want to close up and so on
