He's so consistent every day.
And he's just beloved because he's just funny, keeps it loose.
At the same time, he's very committed.
He's in the locker room many, many hours before the game just preparing.
I remember I talked to him before this, the season before he took the job with the Reds, and he spent a lot of time just worrying about what is this opening speech going to be like?
He really wanted to make sure he had the right words to change the culture of a team when you're starting off as a manager.
So he thinks about a lot of things along those lines.
So, I mean, I had a blast.
I was a young player.
in the sense of like just early core years of the Phillies.
And, you know, we weren't necessarily very good.
We had a decent offense, but played with some great players with Scott Roland and Bobby Abreu and Curt Schilling and so on.
But there's no doubt that Francona gives you a lot of liberty as a young player to make your mistakes and to be aggressive.
And I find him as a great tactician.
That's something he didn't get credit for when I was with him.
But he slowly earned that reputation.
So it's a good guy to have in the division because he keeps it light, but it's also competitive.
With Pete Crowe, I'm sorry, it's adjustments to the adjustments.
The league is constantly getting information on you and finding out, okay, he's going to chase.
He's going to have to always work on that zone.
