It's just the amount of penetration into your body. So cryotherapy generally cools down the outer surface of your skin and so isn't getting that deeper level of cooling that you get from a cold plunge. I personally have a really hard time with cold punch. And that's probably because I don't meditate and I get in there and immediately the second I get in there, I say, I got to get out of here.
