It'll certainly help you lose weight, particularly strength training.
But I can't say for sure it will definitely lower your cholesterol, but it has huge health benefits at lowering your cardiovascular risk, which is the aim of the game anyway, right?
I think lots of people did that or still do that.
Are seed oils bad?
Okay, so we've got really good data on seed oils.
Can we talk about what is a seed oil?
So a seed oil is just essentially an oil that's come from squeezing a seed.
Like sunflower, grape seed, all of those.
Exactly, all of those things.
And there have been some really poorly designed, very small studies that suggested seed oils caused inflammation.
And so when we've looked at actual real robust data on how seed oils affect cardiovascular outcomes in terms of heart attacks and strokes...
They are actually protective against them.
Don't do it.
They're not bad.
They're not the villains of anything.
What they might have been used as, and this I think is what...
where a lot of this misinformation comes from is they have been used in ultra processed foods and so when we when people have said well actually this caused inflammation it wasn't the seed oil it was the rest of that ultra processed food and so that has been linked to bad health outcomes but seed oils themselves are not bad at all i really don't want my boyfriend to hear this
But there are some very convincing people on the internet who make you think, to the point where I was thinking, have I read the studies wrong?
Because this is not adding up to what I've looked at in really high quality studies.
Yeah.
