Some people never enjoy exercise and that's OK as well.
I go for a run every morning and before work and most of the time I do not want to go.
And people say, oh, but you enjoy it once you're out there, right?
No, I hate every minute of it.
But I do it because I know it's good for me.
I feel better once I'm back.
But I don't enjoy a second of it.
Sometimes I do.
And I'm flying through the streets of Bradford.
And that feels great.
But more often than not, I hate every minute of it.
It's going to be hard.
Honestly, I would rather stay in bed, have a piece of toast, but I'm out there in the winter.
It's a nightmare, like horizontal Yorkshire rain.
So when you're doing things like cardiovascular exercise or balance training, you're burning calories while you're doing them.
And then it stops when you finish.
With strength training, it actually speeds up your metabolism and you burn calories afterwards as well.
So you burn calories while you're doing the strength training, but also afterwards.
And that is because muscle is an active tissue.
After you've done the strength training, that muscle has to rebuild and repair.
