So, Andrea, step away from the BMI scale.
Step away from it.
The BMI is an old-fashioned tool.
It's body mass index.
It kind of calculates based on your weight and height.
It's a helpful, broad tool on a population level, on a large scale.
It's not particularly helpful for individuals who are focused on health.
And that's what I think Andrea needs to do.
You have really transformed yourself there and you've become really healthy.
And weight loss can be part of that, but it's not the full story.
And so what BMI doesn't do very well, particularly for women...
is take into account fat distribution in women, part of which is normal.
It doesn't take into account muscle gain as well because that obviously weighs more and so that adds to your weight.
So it's not that accurate when you're on a health journey like this and your personal trainer is absolutely right.
Everyone's focus when it comes to stuff like this should be health rather than weight.
How far can you run?
How quickly can you walk before becoming short of breath up a hill?
All of those things are far more important than what the BMI is telling you.
