If you're a virgin and you're due a screening, that's a bit of a grey area because there's a good chance you probably haven't had exposure to HPV.

You should definitely take the vaccine if you're eligible.

But your risk is not zero, though.

That's the thing.

It's still not zero.

So then have a discussion with your clinician and just say, do you want it?

And, you know, if you can cope with it, do it.

why not yeah it's really quick to do and it's peace of mind yeah and i will just say you know boys do have the hpv vaccine because yes it reduces their risk of passing it on to women which is super important but men who have sex with men hpv can cause anal cancer as well so so it's really important if you're a bloke under 45 uh who is having sex with other men get it get it done you

So that's that's the whole purpose of the vaccine and screening.
