So I've got some props to help people understand.
And the first prop that I've got, I'm holding up a brain in a skull.
It's not a real brain.
So for the listeners, I'm holding up a brain in a skull.
And the reason I'm doing this is to give you the very strong visual image of this is not who you are.
You are not your brain.
Your brain is what you use.
It's part of you, but it's what you use.
But it's not the you-ness of you.
And yes, it's uniquely designed to match who you are as a person.
But if you are dead now, the difference between you and I, Harla, having this conversation and the listeners and viewers and a dead person is our mind.
So the mind is our aliveness.
So the brain, if you did, if I was holding up, if this was a real brain, we could stare at this brain all day long and mind would never be produced from it because it's a dead brain.
So what makes this brain different if it's a brain in a dead person or a brain that's taken out of a person versus you and I who have our brains in our skulls and we are communicating?
It's our mind.
So our mind is separate from the brain.
It's our aliveness, our ability to be alive and to experience life.
and to process that.
So our mind, therefore, is external to the brain and the body, but it also moves through the brain and the body.
So on a physics level, if you want to use it sort of to understand on two levels, your brain is easy to understand.
