like kind of Stockholm syndrome level of manipulation of someone's reality so that they start to question their own reality.
That's gaslighting.
That's not what the casual use of that term is.
You're gaslighting me because you're not answering my texts.
That's not the same thing.
The other thing is, you know, not all sadness is depression and not all worry is anxiety.
Like depression and anxiety are very clinical terms that require a certain degree of symptom profile for that to be used.
You're not depressed because your coffee shop is closed this morning.
You're sad, but you're not depressed.
But the use of that term dilutes maybe that meaning.
Mm-hmm.
Things like narcissism.
And again, I think sadness and...
worry are part of life.
Like anxiety and depression, as we would understand it in my field, is something quite different to that.
It's a symptom of a disorder, an illness that would require treatment, etc.
So worry and sadness
are not something that you, they actually are necessary for us to grow, to have those experiences.
